MCHS sophomore makes quilt for needy kid

A semesterlong project for one Moffat County High School student recently came to a close and soon will brighten the day of a child in need.

Karrie Pritchard, 16, a sophomore at MCHS, last week finished a quilt she plans to donate to Quilts for Kids, a nonprofit organization based in Fairless Hills, Pa. Quilts for Kids provides patchwork fabrics to volunteers that can be made into quilts for needy children.

“I’m donating the quilt to Quilts for Kids because a group of ladies made me a quilt when I was growing up,” Pritchard said. “I thought it was time for me to donate one that I made.”

Pritchard acquired the quilt kit online at www.quiltsforkids.org and put the quilt together herself as a side project during her Clothing 1 class at MCHS.
