Scholarship opportunities available for MCHS seniors and recent graduates
Craig There are several scholarship opportunities available to current Moffat County High School seniors and recent graduates, with application deadlines throughout March, April and May.
Anson Excavating is offering a business scholarship to Moffat County High School seniors who will attend Colorado Northwestern Community College upon graduation, as well as to current CNCC students. Those applying must be going into the heavy diesel automotive program. Applications can be downloaded at www.ansonexcavating.com. Applications must be received by 3 p.m. May 6 either to Paula Duzik at Moffat County High School, to CNCC, or mailed directly to Anson Excavating, P.O. Box 777 Craig, CO 81625.

The Kiwanis Service Scholarship is open to Moffat County High School seniors who will attend a university or vocational school such as automotive technology or cosmetology programs. The scholarship also is open to current college freshman who graduated from MCHS.
Recipients will be chosen based on community involvement.
“We’re looking for what they’ve done above and beyond their school work while still maintaining a decent grade point average,” Mike Anson said.
Financial need and involvement in Key Club is also considered. Anson said between five and eight recipients are typically chosen for the Kiwanis scholarship.
Applications are available from Duzik at MCHS or from Anson at Anson Excavating, 970-629-2057. Applications for the Kiwanis scholarship are due by 3 p.m. March 29.
The Sarah Fleming Memorial Scholarship, funded by Yampa Valley Bank and administered by the Kiwanis Club, is open to current Moffat County High School girls involved in rodeo, 4-H or FFA.
Established in honor of 2006 MCHS grad Sarah Fleming, the scholarship recipient must plan to study early childhood development in college.
Applications for the $2,000 scholarship are available from Duzik and due by 3 p.m. March 29.
