Colorado experienced more than its fair share of tragedies in 2012. A mild winter resulted in the most active wildfire season in state history and fueled in June the two most destructive blazes on record. A month later, while firefighters were trying to contain the Waldo Canyon and High Park fires, a 25-year-old man walked into the Century Theater in Aurora during a midnight showing of “The Dark Night Rises” and opened fire, killing 12 people and wounding dozens more.

Moffat County High School student’s preparation for the spring play, “Fools,” by Neil Simon, is in full swing. Laughter and fake Russian accents filled the MCHS auditorium as actors polished their performances and worked on their stage presence during rehearsal Tuesday night.
Singer/songwriter SJ to perform at CNCC first acoustic concert

SJ, a South Florida-based acoustic singer-songwriter, will performing the first CNCC concert at 7 p.m. April 5 at the Trapper Mine training shop. The training shop will be converted into an indoor/outdoor concert venue for the occasion.
