Longtime Craig resident opens new insurance agency

Craig — Longtime Craig resident Deborah Powell wanted a career. In the process, she found her passion.
After years of working for others, Powell has opened JOPPA Insurance Agency in Craig. Her agency offers home, renters, auto, life, business, specialty and health insurance, a logical path for a woman who has spent the past nine years working in the insurance industry.
Powell opened for business March 1; the office is in American Northwest Realty at 105 East Victory Way.
Powell said the business name JOPPA is a biblical name for a city 35 miles northwest of Jerusalem; it means “beautiful.”
Powell said she’s committed to providing excellent customer service.
Her favorite thing about living in Craig for the past 16 years is the size of the town and the people who live here.
“I really put my heart into my work,” she said. “I really care about the people.”
