Crime of the month

From the “You can’t make this stuff up” file:

A male party reported concern for his family and his safety due to problems with dangerous people. He thought he was in danger because he believed, among other things, that the “dangerous people” had thrown his friend into a trash compactor at a local business. The information the man had reported was investigated and the friend was found at his place of work, confirming he was fine. The male later admitted the story was not true, saying it was possibly a nightmare he'd had. He was arrested for false reporting to authorities.

— As reported by Sgt. John Forgay in the Craig Police Department’s May 2013 month-end report.
