Craig briefs: Lay School to hold a workday on Saturday

The Augusta Wallihan Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a workday at the Lay School at 9 a.m. Saturday. Members of the community are encouraged to bring gloves, hand tools and anything else that will help. Lunch will be provided. The school, which is owned by the chapter, recently was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When it is restored, it will become an interpretive center for students and the public to learn about the history of Northwest Colorado. For more information, call Shannan Koucherik at 970-824-9518.

School district provides summer meals to kids

The Moffat County School District’s Food Services Department is providing summer meals to all children younger than 18 at the Boys and Girls Club of Craig. Meals are provided between 11:20 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday. Meals must be eaten on site. There is no cost, and children do not have to be a member to enjoy lunch.

Medical foot care clinics offered for older adults

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association provides medical foot care clinics for older adults from 8 a.m. to noon every Wednesday at The Journey, 1150 W. Ninth St., and from 9 to 11 a.m. the first three Thursdays of each month at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. Clinics include consultation, foot inspections and toenail trim. The co-pay is $20. County seeks input on community’s needs

The Moffat County Collaborative Council for Children and Families is seeking input from parents to identify the community’s unmet needs for children and families.

The mission of the council is to improve the safety and well-being of Moffat County children and families through collaboration and education with families, the community and stakeholders.

Parents can access the survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/mocofamilies. Participants are asked to complete only one survey per family. Input from spouses and children is encouraged.

Class of 1949 reunion is scheduled for July 13

The Class of 1949 is planning a reunion and luncheon July 13 at the Center of Craig. The highlight of the gathering will be the honoring of former teachers Miss Rose Elnor Hamman and Mrs. Stella Hall. Any of their friends or past students are welcome to attend.
