Chip seal project runs Tuesday through Aug. 1
The Moffat County Road Department will be starting a chip seal project Tuesday through Aug. 1 on Moffat County Road 7 north of the intersection of County Roads 7 and 183 (the bypass) to the end of the pavement. There will be traffic delays while they are putting the chips and oil down. For more information, call 970-824-3211.
Field dressing big game class coming to Grand
With the big game hunting seasons approaching quickly, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will offer a free seminar to teach novice hunters how to care for their harvested animal from the field to the table at 6 p.m. Aug. 7 at the agency’s regional office at 711 Independent Ave.
Colorado hunting regulations require that all big game animals be prepared for human consumption as soon as possible after being harvested.
Other topics include deboning, quartering, the best cuts for table fare and suggestions for transporting the meat out of the field.
