Relay For Life of Craig will take place Friday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. The event, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, is an overnight community get-together with the purpose of battling the cancer disease in all its forms.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. as the crowd pays tribute to the people who have survived the scourge of cancer, leading to a lap around the track by those who have fought the battle and won. Following that, the numerous teams and individuals who have collected money for the cause will walk throughout the night to show their dedication to stamping out the illness and their solidarity with people who have been afflicted with cancer.
The event will include numerous booths and activities for families and friends, as well as the late night Luminaria Ceremony that memorializes the victims of the disease with custom-made lanterns brightening the darkness and symbolizing the hope of a cancer-free future.
The Relay concludes early Saturday morning as organizers observe all the effort put in by participants over the night-long stretch.
All are welcome to join in, pledge funds or just take part in the celebration of life. For more information, contact Leeann Cline at 970-629-5245 or firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.relayforlife.org.
