Aaron’s new location in Craig has gotten off to a strong start since its December opening in Centennial Mall.
General Manager Debbie Montgomery said Craig residents seem to like the leasing option as well as bedroom groups, which have been her No. 1 seller.
“I think it’s been a great turn out so far. I’ve had 120 customers,” Montgomery said. “We’ve had a lot of compliments and comments from people who are so excited we’re in Craig.”
Montgomery said Aaron's offers payment plans and leasing options to fit the needs of almost any budget as well as perks like Aaron’s service plus and features for returning customers. The store also offers retail sales, where customers purchase product outright, as well as leasing sales.
Betsy Nauman-Cook, executive director of the Craig/Moffat Economic Development Partnership said anytime a new business opens in Craig the EDP is ecstatic.
Nauman-Cook said the EDP helped prepare demographic information for the company last spring, increasing excitement on the EDP’s part at being able to have helped get everything in order.
“We’re psyched,” Nauman-Cook said. “There’s a lot of interest right now in both the mall and downtown. We feel like that’s a positive indicator that the economy is starting to pick up.”
Craig resident Grant Jones stopped in Saturday to check out the new store, and said although he thought it was a little pricey, the leasing option would be a good choice for some.
And Craig residents aren't the only ones who have taken advantage of the new store.
Residents of Meeker, Hayden and even Baggs, Wyo., have been buying and leasing from Aaron's, utilizing the free delivery and setup perk Montgomery said.
With payment options and perks drawing customers in, Montgomery said she is on track to meet the goals she has for her store.
If the financing options aren’t enough to get a customer through the door, Montgomery said her store is hosting a super bowl party from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. this Saturday during normal business hours.
Montgomery said the party would have food, drinks and an opportunity for guests to pop a balloon for savings. With big screen televisions and couches aplenty in the store, Montgomery said she hoped for a good turnout.
“We’re excited we’re here,” Montgomery said. “The store has started off really good.”
