What’s going on at Colorado Northwestern Community College:
• GED testing is going all computerized. CNCC is a GED testing center and Vice President Gene Bilodeau is a certified GED test proctor for the college. Normally $110, those who take the GED and enroll at CNCC will be able to subtract the cost of the test off the tuition for the first course a student takes.
• CNCC is seeing growth in a number of programs, especially virtual classroom courses, where students can take live classes from home.
• CNCC’s Safety Committee is reviewing and reinforcing safety procedures in coordination with the Craig Police Department. A number of staff will attend training in Denver.
• Discussions have started with Peabody Coal about possibly offering degree programs to its employees. CNCC already offers mine safety training.
— For more information on any of these happenings contact CNCC marketing director Jeff Stoddard at (970) 675-3289.
