Craig A Moffat County High School teacher and coach was arrested Saturday at his home in the 800 block of Russell Street.
Casey John Kilpatrick, 30, of Craig, was booked into Moffat County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence, false imprisonment and several related misdemeanor charges. Formal charges have not yet been filed in Moffat County Court, according to court records.
Kilpatrick is an English teacher at MCHS. He also coaches boys golf and the speech and debate teams.
He declined to comment about the incident Tuesday. Kilpatrick’s attorney said his client’s arrest was the result of a misunderstanding stemming from a verbal altercation.
Thom Schnellinger, principal at MCHS, said Tuesday he was not aware of the alleged incident. He declined to comment, citing school district policy that doesn’t permit public discussions about personnel matters.
