Thursday, Feb. 14
11:46 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 700 block of Russell Street and issued a warning to a man wearing a black jacket who was checking car door handles.
Noon Officers responded to a report of a horse with no hay or water in the 3000 block of Old East Victory Way. The horse reportedly also was stuck to a wire fence. When officers arrived it appeared the owner had recently been there because the horse was free of the fence, and had hay and water. Officers directed animal control to contact the owner.
3:11 p.m. Officers stopped a motorist in the 900 block of West First Street and issued a citation.
4 p.m. Officers served a trespass notice to a woman in the 400 block of Tucker Street.
4:49 p.m. Officers responded to an animal complaint in the 1100 block of West Sixth Street. A woman who was bitten by a dog was treated for minor injuries. The dog reportedly has all of its shots. It will be quarantined at home by its owner.
5:12 p.m. Officers responded to a report of two German shepherds running at large in the 2000 block of West Second Street. The dogs broke down a neighbor’s fence and possibly injured another resident’s pet. One of the German shepherds was reportedly put down. The other was transported to the pound.
6:37 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 400 block of East Fourth Street. A man was reportedly squatting in a trailer he had previously been evicted from. Upon contact, officers discovered the suspect had an active warrant. He was arrested and booked into Moffat County Jail.
8:44 p.m. Officers responded to a report of property damage in the 1300 block of West Victory Way. A white Ford Escape collided with a deer. No human injuries were reported.

8:26 a.m. Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 600 block of Yampa Avenue.
