To the editor:
Connections 4 Kids early childhood council hosted its second annual Cherish the Little Things children’s art show Feb. 7 to 9, featuring 307 pieces of art by 263 artists in preschool through high school. The event was a wonderful way to showcase the work of these talented youths, and the community was so supportive of the children, their art and our efforts.
Thank you to all of our art patron businesses, organizations and individuals who supported the show and Connections 4 Kids. And thanks to our “friend” businesses that made in-kind donations to help make our show a great experience for the artists and the community.
I would like to extend a big thank you to the artists, Moffat County School District art teachers Martha Laliberte, Steve Martinson and Andrea Peroutka, and Moffat County High School Principal Thom Schnellinger, who made the show possible.
We have many dedicated volunteers who deserve our gratitude: Amanda Arnold, Daniel Arnold, Kaylee Arnold, Kyler Arnold, Matt Balderston, Keith Balleck, Shane Balleck, Robin Bremner, Mindy Curtis, Arin Daigneau, Kelsey Day, Erica Dilldine, Mary Pat Dunn, Nicole Ferree, Christy Gonzales, Chelsey Hammer, Joan Heinz, Israel Holloway, Rose Howe, Derek Maiolo, Kim Maneotis, Seth Morgan, David Morris, Sassy Murray, Alesha Overton, Betsy Overton, Marie Peer, Mary Petrone, Corrie Ponikvar, John Ponikvar, Jennifer Pressgrove, Lauren Samuelson, Elaine Sullivan, Carol Taylor, Nastassija Voyich and Judi Whilden. And thank you to our talented youth musicians who made Art Walk wonderful at The Center of Craig: Brittany Barrientez, Trey Choice, Emily Counts, Nicole Ferree, EJ Hall, Caitlin Harjes, Brad Kennedy, Moriah Mecham, Jason Soos and Morgan Switzler.
Thank you to the Craig Daily Press and KRAI for wonderful coverage of our event. Thank you to the city of Craig and its staff for being a terrific supporter of the show and the work of Connections 4 Kids.
And finally, thank you to the community for coming to the show and supporting our community’s children and Connections 4 Kids through monetary donations and your encouragement.
Proceeds from Cherish the Little Things children’s art show go to support Connections 4 Kids projects for children birth to age 8 in its four areas of focus: health; early learning; social, emotional and mental health; and family support and parent education.
We have much to be thankful for and feel lucky to serve this community. Look forward to seeing Cherish the Little Things art show again next year.
