Mention peppers and many people think of the fiery hot and spicy types that can burn your mouth and make your eyes water. But not all peppers have that effect. The Poblano, Anaheim and a thoroughly washed and deseeded jalapeno are mild versions of peppers. Using peppers versus full-fat options as a garnish or dressing is an easy way to save hundreds of calories and maximize flavor. Plus, jalapenos and chili peppers contain a compound called capsaicin which temporarily boosts your metabolism.
