Boys soccer beats Gore Rangers
The Moffat County boys soccer team Saturday beat Vail Mountain High School in Vail, 2-1.
Sophomore Hugh Turner and senior Eric Silva scored for the Bulldogs, as they picked up their second win of the season and improved to 2-6.
With a game from last week rescheduled to this Thursday, the Bulldogs will get to close out their regular season with three home games at Loudy-Simpson Park. The next game will come against Grand Valley High School 4 p.m. Thursday.
Volleyball loses in three to Coal Ridge
Adjustments were not enough to make a difference for the Moffat County Volleyball team in another loss to Coal Ridge Thursday.
The Bulldogs had played the Titans at home Sept. 13 and lost in three sets, including a 25-7 setback. Thursday’s match played out in similar fashion, with Moffat County falling 10-25, 9-25, 19-25.
The volleyball team is also coming to the end of its season. The Bulldogs play Grand Valley High School Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the MCHS gym.
In their first meeting of the season, Grand Valley beat Moffat County in four sets. The freshman and junior varsity teams are scheduled to start Tuesday’s action at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.

Gerber finished 91st in the varsity race of the Anna Banana Memorial Wildcat Invitational hosted by Fruita Monument High School in Grand Junction Saturday, running an 18:54. Going up against mostly 4A and 5A competition, the Bulldogs boys team finished 23rd. Isaac Chacon (20:56.6), Jacob Archuleta (21:21.7), Andrew Keiss (21:44.6) and Jesse Demoor (22:22.3) also ran in the varsity boys race.
