I don't usually watch television much, but I decided to see what was on.
I got on channel 6 and Lawrence Welk was on, the theme for his program was remembering the Big Bands — Leo Brown, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey to name a few.
I enjoyed the music, brought memories flooding back. I used to sing along with who even was singing on the radio and told myself I was really good when even I managed to hit the high notes.
This practicing also helped me feel better, because I enjoyed doing it and my voice was better when I sang in the choir, the difference in range. I went from second soprano to first.
Now I don't think I can hit the side of the barn with a basketball.
But hey, I can still carry a tune — in a bucket. I still sing along and just call it singing. I love music.
It's another way of praying. Sing a song because music makes a difference in how you feel.
Try it, you'll like it.

News this week showed snowpack in the Yampa River basin has reached 94 percent of median for the date. Do you think Moffat County is out of the woods as far as drought concerns?
