"Where have all the good men gone?" is a question that I hear women asking on a daily basis.
My response is that they are all around us, we just need to give them the opportunity to be our Supermen.
Little boys love super heroes and want to grow up to be those super heroes. This doesn’t mean that they want to fly around in a cape and red tights, but it does mean that they want to save the day and be needed.
Men like independent women who can take care of themselves, they like knowing that if they leave town for a week that we can take care of things.
They also like being the man who can save our day.
Have you ever noticed that when you ask a man to open a jar or change the oil on your car he may grumble under his breath while doing it, but when you give him a big hug and kiss and tell him " Honey, thank you so much for doing that for me, I don’t know what I would do without you," he gets a big smile on his face, his shoulders go back and he puffs out his chest?
That man is an everyday super hero.
I admit that I am a very smart, independent, strong woman who thinks she can take on the world, but I also admit that I love having a man do things for me that I know that I can do.
Does this mean that I am not that smart, strong woman I thought I was?
No. It just means that I know when to fall into that damsel in distress roll and let my "Superman" emerge to save the day.
I will be covering more issues like this in future columns. Hopefully the “25 Shades of Craig” will help answer questions you might have.
