To the editor:
Fall Greetings to all of our friends, neighbors, and fellow voters in Craig and Moffat County.
This year we have an awesome opportunity to select county, state and national leadership that we believe will be pivotal to the success or failure of our nation. You must get out and vote!
The primary reason for this letter is to speak out on the local race for County Commissioner in District 1. Our family has been blessed to live in this valley for nearly one hundred years and have worked together with many individuals to make Northwest Colorado what it is today.
We have been fortunate to serve and be served by both candidates and their families during their lives here, so it’s not a matter of whether either candidate is likeable or cares about our community. To us, it’s merely a decision of who has the ability to step up and lead our county, regardless of how complex the matter is.
For us, Dave DeRose is that individual.
Dave will make an excellent county commissioner as he utilizes his knowledge of finance, hard work, networking, optimistic outcomes and teamwork. Dave, together with Chuck and Tom, will make an outstanding Board of County Commissioners.
Dave’s abilities in real estate and business finance have a proven track record. They can be seen through his group’s commercial properties, service on a local bank board, and multiple mentoring opportunities Dave has provided for some of Craig’s promising future business leaders.
As for being a dedicated, hard working commissioner? Dave and his wife, Linda, can regularly be seen at their business, on their days off, planning and accomplishing what needs to be done.
Through his involvement in city government and multiple non-profit organizations, Dave has contacts across the state to collaborate with when things need to be done. We still believe that handshakes outweigh hi-speed broadband connectivity.
Dave is a visionary for the valley. He knows that power generation, coal extraction, sound oil and gas exploration, livestock, and wildlife tourism not only drive this area, but can help us raise up a future generation of leaders, second to none.
As for teamwork, Dave understands that any organization can’t be successful without utilizing the talents of all of its members.
Through serving together with Dave on the city council and watching him lead our community as mayor, his level of confidence representing the people he served, regularly showed because of his unending desire to research the facts.
Please join us, as we vote for Dave and support him, as he leads our county during the next four years.
