Job title or position:
Library assistant at Moffat County Library Craig branch
How long have you held this position:
"Since 2009"
Previous job:
"I'm a retired music teacher. I taught here in Craig for 30 years."
Hometown:
"Born and raised in Grand Junction so I'm a Western Slope girl."
How did you get started with this position:
"My very first year in Craig I was the librarian at East Elementary and I taught all the kids their music. I taught first graders at Sunset music and fourth graders at a school called Breeze which has been torn down. So I’ve always like the library and music and a position came open and I was lucky to get it."
Favorite thing about NW Colorado:
"The people, I love the people here. You know a small town is just nice. You go to the store, you know people and you can talk."
Least favorite:
"The shopping. You always have to go somewhere else like Grand Junction."
Motto or outlook on life:
"I just try to find the good in everything. I try to not be negative. Although my husband will tell you that I usually say patience is a virtue."
Favorite restaurant:
"Coolwater Grille"
Favorite music:
"I love all kinds of music. I’m really into Celtic music right now and I play the harp. I love old classic rock. If you came to my house I probably have 1,000 CDs. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, I really like them."
Favorite movie:
"Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell"
Favorite book:
"I haven’t found one for this year. Last year I had a favorite book and I mailed it to all my brothers, everybody I knew. I go, “you have to read this book.” But I haven’t found one that just struck me this year like that. The one from last year is called Heaven is For Real. It was just a wonderful book and then we did a bible study at church on it."
Pet peeve:
"Grumpy people. Especially when they’re so grumpy to their children. It breaks my heart."
Favorite color:
"Pink"
