Grand Olde West Days primed for big weekend

The 22nd annual Grand Olde West Days offers an array of events during this Memorial Day weekend, including a nationally-sanctioned Cowboy Action Shoot hosted by the Bears Ears Sportsman Club to the carnival at the Moffat County Fairgrounds provided by Brown’s Amusements.

Events scheduled for today, Saturday and Sunday are below:

Today:

9 a.m. The Yampa Valley Antique Power Club hosts an antique tractor pull in the 300 block of Breeze Street.

9 a.m. The Bears Ears Sportsman's Club, located on Moffat County Road 7, hosts its nationally-sanctioned Cowboy Action Shoot. Call 824-8407.

Noon. The Brown's Amusements Carnival begins at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.

4 p.m. The Grand Olde West Days Parade takes place down Yampa Avenue, Victory Way and Ledford Street. Lineup starts at 3 p.m. at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave., and judging begins at 3:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 27:

9 a.m.. The Yampa Valley Antique Power Club hosts an antique tractor pull in the 300 block of Breeze Street.

9 a.m. A Draft Horse Show takes place at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.

Noon. Brown's Amusements Carnival begins at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.

5 p.m. Brother’s Custom Processing hosts a community barbecue at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. Admission is $8.

7 p.m. Doug Kershaw performs at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the Craig Chamber of Commerce, 360 E. Victory Way, and KS Kreations, 523 Yampa Ave. Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door and $30 in advance for VIP reserved seating.

Monday, May 28:

7:30 a.m. Sign-in for Holistic Health and Fitness’s 5K Fun Run takes place at Kinder Family Clinic, 595 Russell St.

7:30 a.m. The Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team hosts its Flapjack Feed fundraiser in downtown Craig.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A Grand Olde West Days street festival takes place in the 400 and 500 blocks of Yampa Avenue. Live music, a beer garden, food and craft vendors and children’s activities will be provided. Call 824-2151.

Noon. Brown's Amusements Carnival begins at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.
