To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to announce to our community that Rocky Mountain SER Head Start, headquartered in Grand Junction, wants to continue its valuable service in our community.

Head Start has had a presence in Craig for more than 15 years.

Head Start is a nonprofit organization offering free preschool for children ages 3 through 5.

Families must meet financial guidelines to qualify.

The Head Start Program is a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.

Head Start promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services.

Head Start provides education, health, and social services.

Education includes preschool education that meets Colorado Quality Standards.

Health services include screenings, health check-ups, and dental check-ups.

Social services provide family advocates to work with parents and assist them in accessing community resources.

Head Start is associated with large and significant gains in test scores.

Head Start significantly reduces the probability that a child will repeat a grade.

Head Start would like to offer two sessions in Craig for the fall 2012 school year.

A morning session will offer breakfast and lunch; an afternoon session will offer lunch and snack.

Preschool is Monday through Thursday for 3 1/2 hours per session.

Parent/teacher conferences are twice a year and home visits are once during the fall.

Head Start offers a wonderful opportunity for our community.

The economy has hit our county hard and there are many families out of work.

Head Start offers these families the chance to send their child to a quality preschool, and a chance to enhance their academic and social skills and prepare them for their move into kindergarten.

Reality TV can make it seem very difficult by over-dramatizing the time and energy needed to make a saving for you and your family, i always use websites like Get Official Samples to find free products and coupons
