Beautification Committee meets today
The Craig Beautification Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at the Victory Garden, at the intersection of Finley Lane and West Victory Way, to weed and plant.
The group gathers every Wednesday, as weather permits, from May through August. Members of the public are welcome to participate.

Special fire board meeting Thursday
The Craig Rural Fire Protection District Board will conduct a special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Craig Fire/Rescue Station, 419 Yampa Ave.

Book club to meet
The Craig Book Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church of Grace, 657 Green St.
Ginger Taylor will review the book “Water For Elephants” by Sara Gruen.
Participants are asked to bring book suggestions for next season.

Elks Lodge hosting Mother’s Day celebration
The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, will host a Mother’s Day celebration and spaghetti dinner Sunday.
The event is free and open to the public.
Bingo and other activities for children and teens ages 18 and younger will be provided from 2 to 4 p.m., with dinner and a celebration to follow.
A money pit, fishing pond, face painting and other activities will be available for children 12 years old and younger.
All participants will receive a ticket for a drawing in which two iPods—one for a boy and one for a girl—will be awarded.
