The Noyes Health Care Center in Baggs, Wyo., shut its doors permanently Tuesday, the agency reported in a news release.

A staff member will be retained for two weeks as patients transition to other health care providers.

The agency will advertise dates when patients can get copies of their medical records, according to the release.

“The NHCC Board of Directors is bound by laws that protect the privacy of not only health care information but the privacy of the daily operations of the facility,” heath center officials reported.

The Little Snake River Valley EMS, a separate entity that operates under its own board of directors, will not be affected by the health care center’s closure.

Administrator Cynthia Pierce will remain through April 30 to complete final obligations.

She could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

The decision to shut down the health care center, located at 305 Whippoorwill Dr., in Baggs, came after a “thorough assessment and investigation,” according to the release.

“The Noyes Health Care Center Board of Directors has faced many challenges over the past several years, which now requires the board to make an extremely difficult decision,” officials reported.

The board expressed its gratitude to Little Snake River Valley residents for supporting the center, which was the only health care provider in Baggs.

“The NHCC Board of Directors would like to thank the staff for their dedication and commitment to patient care over the years,” according to the release. “It is our hope that the community will be supportive and understanding of what is a very difficult decision.”

Health care center patients who need medical care are encouraged to call Andrew Hughes at 826-2400.
