New shop brings exposure to photographer
Getting the whole family together for a picture can be a hassle, but when you don’t have easy access to the person with the right equipment, that difficulty is even greater.
But, with close proximity to a specialist, such struggles are now a snap.
Since opening at Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way, Hébert Photography has seen a flourish of new customers.
Though he only set up his official studio in May, owner David Hébert has been working professionally in the field for much longer.
“I started back in 1989, and then took a break for a while, and then when digital started to come out I started up again,” he said. “I worked some in Utah, and I’ve been shooting here (in Craig) since 2005.”
Offering portraits, headshots, modeling and other such packages, Hébert and his wife, Patty, have seen a greater amount of clients, which he credits to the new location.
“It’s been going really good there and the response has been really nice,” he said. “Right now, we’re doing a special session on in-studio portraits for $30. There’s no limit on how many pictures we take or how many people, it’s just whatever you can fit in an hour. We also do an outdoor session for $60, and that’s a killer deal.”
Hébert said his focus is providing customers with the best rates possible and having first-rate equipment on hand.
“There’s a lot of good photographers in town, and I think we try to bring a real sense of value to what we do,” he said. “We strive to bring the best quality we can, and I shoot with the same professional equipment that you would find with someone who shoots in New York or L.A. I purposely copy the camera bag of top photographers. If you’re going into a wedding or something, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience for people, so you don’t want to shoot it with something you bought at Walmart or the aperture of an entry-level camera.”
Hébert Photography’s regular business hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Mondays are available by appointment only.
“We do before and after appointments, too, like if someone wants to do it in the morning, and we’re basically available any day except Sunday because we need a day off,” David said.

Flooring specialist to host customer event, sale
TLC Carpet One Floor & Home, 1820 W. Victory Way, will feature a double dose of goodness this weekend with its annual Warehouse Sale and second annual Customer Appreciation Day.
The Customer Appreciation Day takes place from noon to 4 p.m. Friday and includes a barbecue with free hamburgers, hot dogs, side dishes and drinks.
After eating, customers can peruse the selection of flooring options, which will be marked down significantly.
“We’re hoping to get rid of some stuff like carpet, laminates, tiles and even some hardwoods that we’ve had for a while,” manager Kevin Oxley said. “Plus, it lets everybody know how much we’re glad for their business.”
TLC is now in its 33rd year of business in Northwest Colorado.
Friday is the only day for the barbecue, but the sale runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, as well.
Oxley said prices have not been set yet, but customers should come with a different set of numbers in mind. “Just be sure to bring all your floor measurements,” he said.
