Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc., an Alabama-based sporting goods company opening a retail location on the west side of Craig, announced in a news release this week the new store will employ approximately eight full- and part-time employees after it opens.
“We're thrilled to be opening a new store in Craig,” said Jeff Rosenthal, president and CEO of Hibbett Sporting Goods, in the release. “People in Craig take their sports seriously, and we plan to give them the sporting goods products and know-how they've been looking for.”
Hibbett Sporting Goods operates more than 800 full-line sporting goods stores, most of them located in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.
The company’s primary store format is Hibbett Sports, a 5,000-square-feet store located in dominant strip centers and enclosed malls, according to the release.
The Craig store will be a 4,000-square-feet Hibbet Sports in the Tebo Center, a business development currently under construction in the Walmart subdivision, 1830 W. Victory Way.
The store will offer a large selection of quality athletic equipment, footwear and apparel with a focus on knowledgeable, friendly customer service, offering customers information they can't always get at other stores selling sports products, the release stated.
It will feature an expansive selection of brand name merchandise, with an eye toward meeting the needs of the team and individual sports participants.
Another priority is offering localized apparel and accessories so a wide range of customers within each market will be able to find what they're looking for, according to the release.
Rosenthal said that no matter how many new stores the company opens, each individual location will be fully focused on serving the needs of its respective community.
“No matter how many stores we open, we don't lose sight of the fact that every town we serve is a hometown,” he said.
