Mack book signing slated for Saturday

Alberta Mack, widow of the late Chuck Mack, will be signing copies of Chuck’s book, “Remembering Mount Harris,” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave.

Much of the content in the stories of Mount Harris appeared in columns Chuck wrote for the Craig Daily Press.

The late author Carol Valera Jacobson assisted Chuck with the preparation of the manuscript for publication. Carol states in the book’s preface: “This was an important story about growing up in a coal camp that I thought would enhance the understanding about the coal industry in Northwestern Colorado.”

Volunteers sought for coalition

The N-CTRL Coalition is seeking middle school and high school youth and adults and residents of Hayden, Oak Creek and Craig who are interested in protecting youth from tobacco to join the group.

Call Vicki Barron, NW Colo. VNA community Health Educator, at 970-875-1883 for more information.
