For me, good old Abraham Lincoln and George Washington lead the way with all other presidents just part of the list.
We used to memorize the names of all presidents and the state they came from, party affiliation, terms in office, etc.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was in office when I was in school, but I kept up with the presidents up until Richard M. Nixon.
I still kind of do, but not as vigorously. Too much stuff is out there I really don’t care to know, I guess. As long as they do the job they’re elected to do, I’m OK with them.
Happy birthday to Pamela Tabor, Will Ping, Bob Myers, and belated happy birthday wishes to Jerin Simpson, whose birthday was Feb. 18, and Irene Eckert, whose birthday was Feb. 12.
She’s a young 101 years old. Irene celebrated her birthday with daughter Johanna Carter Chadwick. She received gifts and goodies from other family members who weren’t able to be there.
Irene is still very active. She lives at the Veterans Nursing Home in Rifle. She used to be a resident at Sunset Meadows I.
Get well/speedy recovery to Shirley Kindred, Elaine Bradley, Chloe Peterson, Vicky Velasco, Arturo Velasco, Jack Holzberlin, Dolores Cummins, Elma Yoast, Mary Bea Neu, and Vicky Smith.
Thank you to the Cedar Mountain Lions Club for the Valentine’s dinner on Saturday for the senior residents of Sunset Meadows I and II and other seniors who came in from the street.
The AARP meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Feb. 27 at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. The noon potluck is Friday, also at Sunset Meadows I, with bingo to follow. Come see us.
