Letter: Thanks for supporting art show

To the editor:

On February 8 to 11, 2012, Connections 4 Kids early childhood council hosted its inaugural Cherish the Little Things art show featuring 210 pieces of art by 175 artists in preschool through high school.

The event was a wonderful way to showcase the work of these talented youths, and the community was so supportive of the children, their art and our efforts.

Thank you to the 14 art patron businesses and organizations that supported the show and Connections 4 Kids. And thanks to our “friend” organizations that made in-kind donations to help make our show a great experience for the artists and the community.

I would like to thank our council chairwoman, Corrie Ponikvar, especially for the time and energy she put into this show.

A big thank you to the artists and Moffat County School District art teachers – Martha Laliberte, Steve Martinson and Rachel Wattles – who made the show possible. We have many dedicated volunteers who deserve our gratitude: Amanda Arnold, Keith Balleck, Robin Bremner, Rachel Case, Mindy Curtis, Nicole Ferree, Chelsey Hammer, Matt Hammer, Caitlin Harjes, Kim Maneotis, Ashley Moon, Marie Peer, John Ponikvar, Elaine Sullivan, Elizabeth Tucker, Ryan Wattles and Pam Young, as well as students from Moffat County High School Key Club and Moffat County Youth United Way.

Thank you to the Craig Daily Press and KRAI for wonderful coverage of our event.

And finally, thank you to the community for coming to the show and supporting our community’s children and Connections 4 Kids through monetary donations and your encouragement.

We have much to be thankful for and feel lucky to serve this community. Look forward to seeing Cherish the Little Things art show again next year.

Coordinator, Connections 4 Kids
