While much of the time around the holidays is spent indoors with friends and family, the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is ready to help Coloradans get back outside.

CPW will sponsor guided hikesNew Year’s Day in 15 state parks across Colorado, according to a news release, as part of the First Day Hikes Initiative. The hikes will start in the morning of Jan.1 with a few offerings beginning in the early afternoon.

First Day Hikes will offer a unique experience for many to see the beauty of Colorado’s state parks during the quiet winter months. Each hike also will feature an experienced state park guide.
