The 2012 Holiday Tour of Lights
Homeowners went all out this year in the Holiday Tour of Lights, adorning their houses and yards from top to bottom in Christmas light displays of varying colors and themes. Here were some of the best of Craig and Moffat County
The Craig Daily Press thanks all of this year’s participants in the Holiday Tour of Lights.
With a variety of strong entrants, the esteemed panel of judges had its hands full in picking winners.
The winners for 2012 are Mick and Nancy O’Conor of 401 Ellis Ave. in Maybell. Their “winter carnival” themed lighting, complete with a Christmas ferris wheel and carousel, impressed the judges and earned the O’Conors the $200 first prize.
Ray Parfrey’s A-Frame house at 968 Colorado St. was second. The coverage of the entire house and yard, including lights extending all the way up the chimney, made for a spectacular display. It won Parfrey $125.
The house at 625 School St., belonging to Kenneth and Valeri Pfifer, took third place and a $75 reward. The Pfifers delivered a winter wonderland with several characters gracing their display amidst the lights.
Rounding out the awards was Matt Cassidy’s display at 885 Rose St, near the corner of Rose and Ninth Street. Cassidy’s use of color across his house and garage grabs the attention of passers-by and was good for a $50 prize.
Each of the top four also received a one-year subscription to the Craig Daily Press.
Thank you to all the participants in this year’s competition and to all other residents who are lighting up Craig this holiday season.
