To the editor:
Many people have asked me if we made our goal of 600 shoeboxes for this year. I am happy to say "Yes we did."
The Craig Relay Center for Operation Christmas Child received some late arrivals that put us over the top to 610.
Thanks to everyone who donated a shoebox filled with gifts for the world's neediest children. Thanks also to those tho donated money, items and time to help us send some love.
A special thank you goes to Dave DeRose and JB Chapman who allowed us to used their vehicles to haul all those boxes to Grand Junction for the next leg of their journey.
Thank you to Calvary Baptist Church for giving us a collection site and support in so many ways. Thank you all the churches for sharing our message.
I would like to thank my daughter, Kate Grobe, for her many volunteer hours. And a big thanks goes to Chuck Grobe for being my driver and all around biggest support during the whole process.
Thanks again to the givers in Craig, Maybell, Hayden and Meeker.
Merry Christmas to all,
Julie Grobe

Question of the week
News this week showed snowpack in the Yampa River basin has reached 94 percent of median for the date. Do you think Moffat County is out of the woods as far as drought concerns?
