Regional early childhood council Connections 4 Kids has released its second annual Connections 4 Kids calendar, the agency announced last week in a new release.

The calendar features artwork by 20 finalists who were showcased in the organization’s Cherish the Little Things children’s art show in February, according to the news release.

The top vote-getting artwork, a watercolor by Caitlin Running, appears on the cover of the calendar. The other 12 winners are featured on individual months. The seven runners-up are tiled on the final month of the calendar, the release stated.

“I am so excited to unveil this project to the community as a service to families,” said Michelle Balleck, Connections 4 Kids coordinator, in the release. “With pertinent events to families already slotted in the appropriate dates on the calendar, families can plan ahead, fill in their own activities and gain ideas for cultivating their children’s education and creativity.”

A total of 1,000 calendars will be distributed throughout Moffat County including, elementary schools, all three branches of Moffat County Libraries, Dr. Yarmer’s office at The Memorial Hospital’s Medical Clinic, Craig City Hall, the Craig Daily Press, Boys & Girls Club of Craig, Bank of Colorado and First National Bank of the Rockies, according to the release.

“We invite anyone interested in the calendars to stop by one of our participating locations to get their free copy,” Balleck said in the release. “It is our pleasure ⎯ and the honor of our many business, organizational and individual sponsors highlighted in the calendar ⎯ to bring this service to the community and to recognize the artwork of our community’s youngest members. I hope families will find the calendar useful and informative.”
