Al-Anon group schedules regular meetings

The Butterflies Al-Anon Family Group will hold meetings at 6 p.m. Fridays starting Sept. 7 at First Congregational Church, 630 Green St.

Al-Anon’s mission is to help the families of alcoholics by practicing the 12 steps, welcoming and giving comfort to those families, ad giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholics.

Therapeutic riding program taking applications

Freedom Hooves Therapeutic Riding of Northwest Colorado is now accepting student applications for a four-week pilot program beginning Oct. 6.

Eligible applicants include persons ages three and older who are functioning with physical, developmental and/or social-emotional challenges and are interested in participating in an adaptive horsemanship program.

Applications will be accepted through Sept. 14.

The cost for selected students will be a $25.00 registration fee.
