Former band teacher sentenced on sex charge

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — A former band teacher accused of using his cell phone to record video under the skirts, dresses and shorts of female students has been sentenced to two years in jail.
Matthew James Taylor also was accused of recording shots of the students' cleavage. He was sentenced Friday to 15 years of sex offender intensive supervision probation and must register as a sex offender.
Taylor was a band teacher at D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School in Jefferson County.
Several female students reported concerns about Taylor. Prosecutors say investigators later found hundreds of video images of students ages 13 to 17 on his computer.
He pleaded guilty to attempted sexual exploitation of a child and harassment in June.
