Briefs for August 8: CNCC placement tests available starting today

Placement testing for new Colorado Northwestern Community College Craig campus students without English or math courses is required before registering for fall classes.

Testing is available beginning today.

DAR to meet Saturday at museum

The Augusta Wallihan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave.

Craig Daily Press seeking new editorial board members

The Craig Daily Press is seeking people to participate on its next editorial board.

Editorial board members meet from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays to discuss the newspaper’s opinion pieces for that week’s Wednesday and Saturday editions.

Editorial board terms last three months.

Organization serving youth seeking tourney teams, sponsors

Northwest Rocky Mountain Court Appointed Special Advocates will host a softball tournament Saturday and is seeking teams and sponsors. It will be an elimination tournament, with proceeds benefitting Moffat County youth. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m., and organizers are seeking eight to 10 teams.

VNA observing National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month and the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association encourages students and their parents to get current on back-to-school immunizations.

Low-cost immunizations are available for all ages by appointment or by dropping in Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 745 Russell St.
