Senior Spotlight for April 23: Earth Day

Earth Day, to me, means taking care of the planet, mostly around our own area, not littering, picking up the trash when and where we can, doing yardwork, removing and disposing of trash, etc.

Gardening, or getting the plot ready, and beautifying things makes things better in so many ways, no matter where you are.

I used to like to come home and do yardwork, water the lawn, rake, or clean my cactus plant patch. That sure made for prickly situations.

I sure miss my yard.

I always look at the beauty of the seasons, each one bringing forth a new picture.

Let's look for spring's beauty and keep our nation clean, wherever we are. Every little bit helps.

Happy birthday to Angie Gagon, Tom Ward, Jean Goldstein, Ronnie Rogers, Ruth White, Clara Stewart, and Vivian Bishop.

Speedy recovery/get well wishes to Lester Welch, Rose Gomez, Celeste Starling, and anyone needing comfort in mind, body or soul.

The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. Bingo may follow.

The McDonald's senior breakfast is Wednesday.

A meeting about low vision will take place at 1:30 p.m. today in the rec room at Sunset Meadows I.

News is always welcome.

Call me at 824-2139.

Thanks.
