This week started off with a double — Palm Sunday and April Fools’ Day.
Depending on how you feel about either one will determine how you would spend the day.
Maybe it’s neither one or maybe it’s both.
For me, Palm Sunday comes first. It’s a very special day. Later on comes April Fools’ Day because it’s a fun time making pancakes, and playing funny tricks on people, but nothing hurtful or mean.
I think of what the rest of the week leads up to — Easter.
What does it really mean to you? To me, it’s a time to forgive and forgive completely. Release the hurts, bitterness, etc.
That’s what Easter is all about — forgiveness.
As time goes by, forgiving may come easier. Anyway, everyone has his or her own way of dealing with it.
Meanwhile, spring brings forth a newness to the land, freshness in flowers blooming, warm days, green surroundings, etc. The old is renewed by the beauty of spring, bringing hope to all of us, because of the promise of what Easter stands for.
Happy birthday to Rick Southard, Clara Stewart, Linda Herrera, June Collins and Bob Gilbert.
Get well/speedy recovery to Judy Copeland, Deb Jacobs, Ron Moran, and Clara Abeyta. To all of you in the hospital or wherever you are, have an Easter full of faith, hope and joy.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265 senior dinner is scheduled for 5 p.m. today.
Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St., is hosting a potluck at noon Friday. Come join us for bingo at 1 p.m.
Easter Sunday is this week. Enjoy it. Maybe you’ll find the Easter Bunny hiding eggs. Happy Easter to you all.
