The Craig Veterans Telehealth Clinic will be sending out postcards reminding veterans about getting their flu shot.

The vaccine is in, so you can drop in and get a shot.

April Branstetter, a registered nurse at the clinic, said Friday afternoons are the best time to come in, but any other time is OK, too.

Clinic staff would like to remind patients that it does not accept walk-ins. Services are by appointment only.

And, here’s another reminder for veterans about the clinic.

Initial blood draws require trip to Grand Junction

There has been a misunderstanding about blood draws.

If you are going for a physical for the first time, you have to go to Grand Junction to have your blood drawn. You have to be there in the morning and then wait for two hours to see the doctor. This is for the first time only.

If you have a physical coming up, you can still go to the clinic a few days before and get your blood drawn.

Conference for female veterans today in Denver

The first conference and health care expo for female veterans is today at Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, 7711 Academy Blvd. No. 1, in Denver.

This expo is to honor the service of more than 38,000 Colorado women who are veterans.

The program includes guest speakers and will highlight the health care and educational services offered to the growing population of the state’s female veterans.

The Denver VA Women Veterans Program provides extensive support for a wide array of concerns, including complex gynecological conditions, mental health counseling, medical care coordination through a primary care provider, and other referrals to specialty areas.

The program also offers spiritual comfort from chaplain resident Sarah Davis-Wright.
