The Bureau of Land Management will be conducting a public field meeting Wednesday to visit three parcels being considered in the White River Field Office for the May 2012 competitive oil and gas lease sale.

The meeting will provide participants an opportunity to see the parcels and express any concerns.

The tour will depart at 8 a.m. Wednesday from the White River Field Office, 220 Market St., Meeker.

Attendees should provide their own transportation, proper field attire, water, food and sunscreen.

Lunch Chamber mixer set for Friday

The Craig Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors’ next After-hours Mixer is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave.

The event is free and includes lunch.

Craig Book Club to meet Thursday

The Craig Book Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church, 630 Green St.

VNA offers free cardio screenings

In honor of National Cholesterol Education Month, the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering free cardiovascular screenings every Tuesday in September at the Community Health Center.

Screenings include total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, blood glucose and body mass index.

Support group meets Tuesdays

The Depression and Bipolar Support Group meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday at The Memorial Hospital, 750 Hospital Loop.

The group is free and open to anyone.
