Halloween is over, and now’s when we all get settled in for a long winter. Oh the joy.

Stores already have their Christmas decorations and merchandise out. Only 52 shopping days left.

■ Battle the chill in the air with a warm bowl of soup.

The Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center hosts its annual chili supper and silent auction at 6 p.m. Saturday at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.

And the price is right. It costs $6 per person, $10 per couple or $20 for a family of four, plus $2 for each additional person. Just pay at the door.

Call 824-5204 for more info.

■ Nothing says the holidays like a craft fair.

Yampa Valley Regional Airport’s Christmas Art and Craft Fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the airport, 11005 Routt County Road 51A, Hayden.

Admission and parking are free.

Get more details from 276-5001.

■ Yell out “bingo!” and you could go home with big bucks.

The Elks Lodge’s bingo boasts $1,900 in total jackpot giveaway at this week’s event.

The doors open at 5 p.m., and games start at 6:15 p.m. at the lodge, 43 E. Victory Way.

If you’re not so lucky Friday night, try American Legion Post 62 bingo Saturday.

The doors open at 4:30 p.m. and games begin at 5:45 p.m., also at the Elks Lodge.

■ Hunter sight-ins continue this week at the Bears Ears Sportsman Club Cedar Mountain Range, on Moffat County Road 7 about five miles north of Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply.

Sight-ins are scheduled for Thursday and Friday. The range opens at 9 a.m.

Call Howdy at 824-6109 or 629-8550, or Andy at 824-8407.

■ Learn something new with free crochet lessons from Mary Walters.

The next class is from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at 655 Ranney St.

Call Mary at 824-2923 to find out what to take with you.

■ West Theatre is holding onto “In Time” and “Puss in Boots” this week.

New at Redbox this week are “Cars 2,” “Trespass,” “Fast Five,” “The Craiglist Killer” and a few others, including some spooky flicks for those still hanging onto the Halloween spirit.
