Briefs for May 24, 2011: Relay for Life hosting fundraisers

Yampa Valley Relay for Life is hosting a series of fundraisers at Vallarta’s Mexican Restaurant in Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.

Every Monday evening through July 11, a team involved in Relay for Life will receive 25 percent of the night’s sales.

The Hayden H.E.A.T. team is also hosting a fundraiser dance from 9 p.m. to close Saturday at the Hiway Bar, 136 E. Jefferson St., Hayden.

DJ Rodney McGown will provide music for dancing, and there will be a silent auction. The cost is $10 per person, which includes two drinks.

All cover charges and proceeds from beer sales will benefit Relay for Life.

Ranger district to host travel plan meeting

The Rio Blanco Ranger District will host a meeting to discuss the new Forest Service Travel Management Plan at 6:30 p.m. June 15 at Kilowatt Korner, 233 Sixth St., Meeker.

Gino’s to host Chamber mixer June 2

Gino’s Neighborhood Pizzeria & Grill, 572 Breeze St., will host a Craig Chamber of Commcerce Ambassadors Business After Hours Mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. June 2.

The event is free, and the public is welcome.

The Craig branch of Moffat County Libraries, 570 Green St., will open late today.

Reception for quilt show set for Thursday

The opening reception for the second annual Western Heritage Quilt Show is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave. Light refreshments will be served.

The quilt show, hosted by the Yampa Valley Piecemakers Quilt Guild, will remain on display through June 10. Admission to the museum is free.

Meeting for Farmer’s Market set for Thursday

An informational meeting for those wishing to participate in this summer’s Farmer’s Market is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday in the second-floor conference room at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way.

Anyone interested in being a vendor and selling homemade and homegrown items is invited to attend. The Farmer’s Market will run from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays throughout the summer beginning June 16 at Alice Pleasant Park in downtown Craig.
