Craig Police officer awarded for helping inmate facing a heart attack

When Ryan Fritz, an officer for the Craig Police Department, heard a request for help in the Moffat County Jail early in the morning April 3, he said his instincts kicked in. At around 4:30 a.m., an inmate suffered a heart attack, was unconscious and had quit breathing. By Fritz’s knowledge, the progression was simple — the man’s heart would stop.

Third-grade reading scores on the rise in Moffat County

The Colorado Department of Education released a batch of unofficial Colorado State Assessment Program scores Tuesday. Those scores pertain to reading tests taken by third-graders in Moffat County in February. Christine Villard, assistant superintendent for Moffat County School District, said the scores were well received. “It was good news,” she said.

Briefs for May 12, 2011: VNA offering free shingles, Hepatitis, HPV vaccines

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is now offering a variety of vaccinations. The VNA offers the Zostavax vaccine for shingles. Those 60 or older who are low-income and uninsured (without Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance) may qualify to receive the vaccine at no cost. A $14 administration fee applies. The vaccine is offered through the Merck Patient Vaccine Assistance Program.

My wife recently had an affair. She told me she was in love with the guy and was going to leave me. Now she says she realizes he was only using her physically and she isn't interested in him anymore. This affair ended last winter, and they had no contact for a while. Our marriage seemed to be mending. However, about six weeks ago, my wife grew more and more distant and had no interest in being intimate. I then discovered she was texting this same man.
