It seems to me that sometimes when the fox is in charge the hens will lay more eggs and the fox will eat also. Everybody wins if the Chamber takes it over.

Why not have the group that is responsible for the tourism be the one to continue to do their job without interference of the membership driven group. If everyone just followed their missions, life would be less stressful for the rest of us to visit your community. Maybe you do not want visitors — if so, let us know, and we can always hunt, fish, etc. somewhere else. Just updating web pages would be a great way to entice people to visit your area, but that might mean paying attention to details, which it appears is not part of the mission of any group. Our group will await our tags before we make a definite decision of our vacation plans.

I think MCTA should be left to promote Craig Colorado and Moffat County. The Chamber is a good thing, but the Chamber only promotes its members. If you have a great little business but can't afford the Chamber dues, then so sad too bad, Chamber will never mention you to anyone.
I understand that when someone pays dues, they want, need and expect to be promoted over someone who doesn't. To me a Chamber should be promoting the WHOLE community, but since they don't work that way, let MCTA promote the WHOLE community and take care of the money the tourism tax brings in. Maybe things should or could be re-worked so the Chamber receives a portion of that money to help with their expenses OR maybe the Chamber should have to apply for money like others do when something is going on and they need promoters.

It took awhile to get some assistance; Moffat County Tourism gives the Craig Chamber over $25,000 a year to for the center operating out of the Chamber building. Are those dollars to offset the expenses of having the center open at the Chamber's convenience? — I agree that there is a lack of attention to details as demonstrated by the webpage. You only get to make a good impression once and they get a big fat F in that department.

The MCTA needs to learn how to better promote Northwest Coloardo. However, the Chamber of Commerce should not be that vehicle. They are only interested in obtaining the funds available.

The Chamber only knows how to have one fundraiser after the other to raise money to pay their saleries to have people to run fundraisers. The Chamber does hardly anything to advance commerce in our area.
