Senior Spotlight for June 22, 2011

Father’s Day has come and gone. Most of my Father’s Days have been spent thinking of my dad. He’s been gone several years, but he left a beautiful gift of inspiration.

When I feel down, I ask myself what my dad would do. Nine times out of 10, I come up with the answer that, if at first you don’t succeed, you try, try again.

Also, he always saw the good in people. Some people tend to pass judgment on others and don’t stop to think of how much they hurt others.

We need to look for the good in others. I hope all the fathers out there had a good day in their honor.

Here’s wishing a happy birthday to Theodore Floyd and Treva Sharp.

Speedy recovery/get well wishes to Peggy Lawton, Liz Breton, Frank Ford, Sr., Frank Hadley, Alta Garcia Valdez, Shirley Murphy, Alexandra Cruz and Aviva Waldstein.

The McDonald’s senior breakfast is today.

Summer officially began Tuesday.

The AARP meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.

The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I. See you there.

Chloe Peterson had company from Fort Collins June 16. Chloe is one of our newer residents here at Sunset Meadows I.

News is always welcome. Call me at 824-2139, or stop by for a visit.

Thanks.
