Briefs for Jan. 31, 2011: Culture Night coming to library

The Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries will be hosting Culture Night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of every month, the library announced in a news release.

The next Culture Night is scheduled for Feb. 7 at the library, 570 Green St., and will feature harpist Charleah Firestone.

Local residents are encouraged to bring their families for the hour of entertainment provided by local artists.

Democrats set to host meeting

The Moffat County Democrats will host a re-organization meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40.

All interested Democrats are welcome to attend.

Seedling tree orders being accepted

The Colorado First Conservation District is taking orders for seedling trees. A variety of trees and shrubs are available to enhance wildlife, create windbreaks and snow fences.

The trees will arrive the first week of May in time to plant.

The average cost of the trees is less than $1 each.

To obtain trees, you must own at least two acres of land.

Order forms may be obtained at the Bureau of Land Management, Moffat County Extension Office or the USDA/district office at 145 Commerce St. For more information, call 824-3476, ext. 101.

Participants sought for Artwalk

The 16th annual Artwalk and fifth annual Taste of Chocolate are scheduled for Feb. 12 and organizers are seeking participants.

Those interested in sharing their artwork should call KS Kreations at 824-2151.

Those interested in competing in the Taste of Chocolate should call The Kitchen Shop at 824-8148.
