MCHS girls varsity basketball team gives Delta first WSL loss

Fourth quarter
MCHS defeats Delta, 46-39, giving the Panthers their first Western Slope League loss. Senior Brittany Ivers scores 8 points in the Bulldogs' 18-point fourth quarter, and Lauren Roberts added another 4 for the team.
Third quarter
The Bulldogs came out strong in the third quarter, and outscored Delta, 10-4. They now lead, 28-22, going into the fourth.
Lauren Roberts sparked the MCHS offense with 4 points.
Second quarter
After a slow start, MCHS played better offensively in the second quarter and is tied with Delta at halftime, 18-18. Sophomore Sassy Murray led the Bulldogs in the second quarter with 5 points.
First quarter
At the end of the first quarter, the Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team trails the Delta High School Panthers, 7-4. Senior Lauren Roberts and junior Melissa Camilletti provided the only points, with 2 each, for MCHS in the low-scoring first quarter.
Pre-game
The Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team hopes to keep momentum alive in league play tonight against Delta.
After two straight wins, the Bulldogs are 8-6 overall and 2-1 in the Western Slope League.
Delta is 11-3 overall and 4-0 in the league.
MCHS coach Matt Ray said his team will have to contain the Panthers post play to have a chance to win. Offensively, Ray stressed patience and getting good shots.
