The Bulldogs couldn't mount a come back against Delta, falling 82-56 as they dropped to 1-3 in the Western Slope.
The Delta Panthers opened their lead on the Bulldogs, heading into the final quarter 62-45. Senior Angelo Raftopoulos had six points for the Bulldogs in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs kept scoring in the second quarter, but so did Delta. The Panthers pull ahead, 40-36, at halftime. Haddan added 6 more points for MCHS in the second quarter, and Camilletti chips in with 5 points.
The Bulldogs get off to a fast start in the first quarter, and lead the Delta Panthers, 19-9, heading into the second. Junior Colby Haddan scored 7 points and senior Dylon Camilletti added 6.
Vying for their first winning streak of the season, the Moffat County High School boys varsity basketball team takes on Western Slope League foe Delta at 7:30 p.m. tonight on the road.
The Bulldogs are 2-11 overall and 1-2 in league play after beating Battle Mountain on Saturday. The Delta Panthers are 6-8 overall and 1-2 in the league.
The Panthers have beaten Eagle Valley, a team MCHS lost to by 22 points. Delta, however, lost to Battle Mountain two weeks ago by 11 points.
Bulldogs head coach David Bradshaw expects the Panthers to run a pressure defense, a problem for the Bulldogs in the early part of the season.
