Whether you’re in the mood to boogie down, ride hard or relax with some music, this weekend has got a little bit of culture and a little bit of rugged fun.

■ Dust off your tux and get ready to show your stuff Saturday night.

The Craig Rotary Club’s annual dinner and dancing fundraiser, Diamonds & Spurs, returns at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion.

As per the usual, the event includes music by a DJ, a great meal and a raffle for a high-end piece of jewelry. This year, the raffle includes donations from Murdoch’s and Furniture Connection, as well.

Money raised at the event benefits high school scholarships and other Rotary projects.

But, if you didn’t get tickets, you may be out of luck. Diamonds & Spurs is sold out, so if you want to go, you’d better suck up to some friends who bought a table.

That’s what we’ll be doing.

■ Ride your way to some cash during the Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club’s 10th annual Poker Run on Saturday.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Freeman Reservoir Trail Head parking lot, 10.5 miles north of Craig on Colorado Highway 13.

The cost is $10 for each hand, or three hands for $25.

There are cash prizes, in addition to prizes donated by local businesses. They will be distributed during a banquet following the Poker Run at the O.P. Bar & Grill.

The event benefits the organization’s scholarship fund.

■ Soak up some tunes as the Craig Concert Association presents guitarist Edgar Cruz at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Moffat County High School auditorium, 900 Finley Lane.

Tickets are $20 at the door, or free with an association membership.

Get all the details at www.craigconcerts.org.

■ Get your read on.

Bundle up the kiddos and head down to the ninth annual Literacy Carnival Thursday night.

The carnival runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Elementary School, 800 W. Seventh St., and is open to all preschool through fifth-grade students who go with an adult.

Kids can play reading- and writing-themed games and win prizes. They can also take a book or two to trade.

Thanks to the Sagebrush Reading Council, Colorado Northwestern Community College and a Moffat County School District literacy grant for hosting the event.

To learn more, call Sunset Elementary School at 824-5762.

■ West Theatre is getting in “True Grit” and is holding onto “The Green Hornet” for a second week.

Redbox has “Animal Kingdom,” “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” “Buried,” “Devil” and “Takers” out this week.
