Briefs for Jan. 14, 2011: Park’s Ski and Skate all day Saturday

Yampa River State Park’s Annual Ski and Skate is scheduled for 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the park, located between Craig and Hayden on U.S. Highway 40.

There will be ice skating, sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and more. The event is free.

Preserving the Last Frontier meeting set

The next Preserving the Last Frontier meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the second-floor conference room at the Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.

John Raftopoulos will speak during the meeting about the history of his family.

The meeting is open to the public.

Concert Association performance slated

The Craig Concert Association presents a performance by guitarist Edgar Cruz at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in the auditorium at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane. The cost is $20 at the door, or free with an association membership.

2nd Heritage Quilt Show slated

The second Western Heritage Quilt Show is set for this summer at the Museum of Northwest Colorado.

The deadline to enter the show in May and June is April 30, according to a news release from the museum.
