Briefs for Feb. 28, 2011: DAR seeks help with Lay school history

The Augusta Wallihan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is seeking help from community members in compiling the history of the Lay school.

The chapter also has numerous photographs taken in the 1950s at the school, and needs help identifying students shown.

Support group meeting Tuesday

A cancer support group is scheduled to meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St. Meetings take place on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the church.

The meetings are open to anyone.

Relay for Life hosts Hayden rally

The Yampa Valley Relay for Life Rally is scheduled to be in Hayden at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hayden High School, 495 W. Jefferson.

Everyone is invited to attend the event, which includes booths, information about becoming involved with the area’s Relay for Life, games, refreshments and a tribute to local cancer survivors.
